Earlier this year, with the support and guidance of Integra Associates, the University of East London (UEL) became not only the first university, but the first organisation in the UK to implement Financial Information Centre (FIC).
Their upgrade from v55 also included a new integrated implementation of the Research Costing and Pricing module, and the upgrade of the standard Financials and Logistics modules. Go Live was on schedule and within budget and here is how it was achieved:
The University of East London is one of London’s leading modern universities for research, innovation and enterprise. They chose Unit4’s Research Costing and Pricing module to support the capture of research grants.
Recruiting and retaining students and staff in this competitive sector requires comprehensive system upgrades to be completed in a timely manner.
At the same time, there needed to be minimum interruption to the running of the education institution and the staff who use and rely on such systems. Our focus was to ensure this happened within budget and on time.
Working in an increasingly commercial and competitive sector, it is important to ensure that the system supported efficient and effective processes, in UEL's case this meant improving budget management and timely submission of bids for research grants.
Why UEL chose Integra Associates
“We tendered for a partner to help deliver an ambitious project to upgrade Unit4 Business World to Milestone 4, including important additional new modules around research costing and financial reporting within a 6-month deadline. Integra evidenced their ability to add value to the project, and having already worked with Integra we had confidence in their knowledgeable and dedicated staff.
"The project was completed on time and on budget, I would certainly recommend Integra to anyone who is considering a U4BW implementation.”
