As part of your work in ensuring your organisation is compliant with the digital link phase of Making Tax Digital which began in April 2021, you may be increasingly coming across the term ‘Fraud Prevention Headers’.

Fraud Prevention Headers are used by the HMRC to ensure you send various snippets of user data when completing your VAT return, and from July 2021 are a statutory requirement for the Making Tax Digital VAT API.

This means you must use Fraud Prevention Headers within your submission, with each header required to contain a specific type of user data. These data headers include your timezone, local IP and window size to name a few.

This data is used by the HMRC to help it protect your confidential data from criminals and fraudsters, with it following best practices as set out by the Information Commissioners Office.

Unlike other products, our Unit4 ERP (Agresso) Making Tax Digital solution already has these Fraud Prevention Headers built in to it, helping to ensure that you are fully compliant with the HMRC’s Making Tax Digital requirements and are submitting all the data you are legally required to do so.

In addition, our Making Tax Digital solution also comes with a number of other key features and benefits, such as it the fact it works on all milestone versions of Unit4 ERP (Agresso), allows for manual adjustments via either your GL journal or BIF to our custom tables, and is compatible with a number of different VAT set ups.

Our solution is also already helping over 70 legal entities who use the Unit4 ERP (Agresso) system ensure compliancy, including Accent Group and Kingston University.
